The Last Trance Invasion
So here’s a surprise for you… today’s live stream will be the LAST Monday show for the foreseeable future. Trance Invasion will be going away once I stop streaming tonight.
Why, you may ask? Three main reasons really:
Twitch Partner Isn’t Important
We already scaled back to two shows a week once before. The only reason I brought back a third show was to try and qualify for Twitch Partner status. Well… we tried and tried again for over a year (and you can read about that whole saga on Patreon and Ko-Fi), but the goalposts kept inching backwards every single time. I might try again in the future, but honestly… it’s just not important.
Streaming on Twitch has introduced me to some amazing new fans, talented DJ’s and producers, and even led to things like VR streams and charity events. I have no intention of leaving the platform or killing the streams entirely. And VR week will still be three shows. But, at the end of the day, the “Partner” status just isn’t important enough to keep carving 15-16 hours a week out of an already tight schedule.
Going forward, the Progressive Birdhouse will be your stop for Progressive House, Trance, Techno, and more.
The Music Must Flow
What is important is having the time to make new music. That’s right, the same reason I scaled back to two shows the first time still applies. I’ve got a new album to promote, release, and support, and I’d like to release more singles on an ongoing basis. That requires more time off camera and in the studio chair.
And on that note, you’ll be hearing a lot more from me about Into The Trees as I prepare to launch my first full-length album. Mythimorph Labs is hard at work making the album art and I’ve got some stories to tell about each of the new tracks about to drop. It’s time to focus on this album, and the next…
Oops, She Said It
Speaking of Mythimorph, a funny thing happened at the start of our little motorcycle trip last week. She made the mistake of telling me, and I quote:
If you start working on an Avian Invasion + High Orbit album, I’ll start working on fursuits and costumes.
She was of sound mind, sober, and said this in front of witnesses. So… Work will begin on a new High Orbit album sometime this week. Captain Ebel, the robots, and new music are all coming back. And it’s up to you to make sure both of us stick to our word!
Once again, if you want an exhausting exhaustive breakdown of what happened with Twitch, you can read the whole saga on Patreon and Ko-Fi. Until then, I’ll see you tonight at 3pm Pacific!
