A Once Mighty Forest
Continuing with my general feeling that everything— literally everything —is falling apart…
I was inspired recently by a trip we took to Lake 22 here in Washington State. Massive cedars and Douglas Firs all around us, some of them so big around you think they’ll never fall.
But they will. They all do eventually. Just like the one we found upended in a waterfall, toppled like a cheap condo building in south Florida.
And that’s okay.
The knowledge that nothing we do is permanent, somehow, reassures me. It means the things we do while we’re here matter the most to the people around us.
Production Notes:
- Yeah, this one’s another Oddy mastering job. Man, he makes me sound good…
- Also, I’m going to settle on AIFF files for the lossless versions since that’s what DJ’s use. AIFF’s keep things like track title, artist name, even artwork, where WAV files don’t.
- I’m also trying to create Radio Edits of the new tracks so you’ll have a 3-4 minute song to listen to as well as the Original Mix (which involves intros/outros for DJ’s).
