Are You Here (With Me)?

The more I dig into this stuff, the more I seriously love Deep House.

At least as far as I understand it, deep house is heavily bass-driven– which you can tell I’m into if you listen to my piano playing, my previous rock albums… hell, half the songs on Goodbye Planet Earth start with the bass line or a piano with a heavy bottom end.

No, I’m not fat-shaming my instrument.

Anyway, deep house also seems to be driven by simple synth elements used well. The super-mega-ultra layered stuff you find in trance, dubstep, and a lot of other EDM genres are cool and all… but something about the elegance of a mostly-naked synth just works for me.

I’m still experimenting (aren’t we all?), but in the mean time, here’s something new for your ears. And, hopefully, the rest of your body.
