After many hours installing foam, fiberglass, and an upgraded studio computer… I’m finally up and running in my new studio! But how is the new room going to be for mixing?
In a word, fantastic.
I can actually hear all the stuff I’ve been missing in the headphones, I can mix at a proper volume without annoying my man in the next room, and I even have a window to look out while I’m rendering. (Edit: I still need a subwoofer, though… mixing kick and bass are still difficult with only 5″ speakers.)
For my first test-run of this new space, I pulled an old favorite that I’d already remixed once. Listening to the original, the recent remix, and now this version should give you an idea of how much better I can mix in a proper studio space.
As always, Runtt breathed some serious new life into this tune. His energy on the drums is incredible!
