The Tradeoff: Art for Piano
Since time is very much of the essence, I decided to go for real piano on 4 of the 10 tracks. Rather than create a new Kickstarter goal, I decided to create my own album artwork and spend the art budget on the Disklavier piano tracks.
After all… what’s more important: The sound, or the CD case?
I spent some time in Photoshop and Illustrator and made a more stylized (and scalable) version of my initial album cover mockup… and I’m actually pretty damn happy with it.
I’m even happier with the difference in piano sound. It’s subtle, but it’s important.
I’ll be explaining why in a matthewebel.com post tomorrow, but for now you can take a listen to the REAL piano in this Kickstarter update.
And thanks again for your continued support!
