This is a new beginning, literally.
I realized in all the months I’ve been working on Rownd and Sqware, something has been MISSING from all the songs. They sound good, but… not quite right, yaknow?
Part of what’s missing is simplicity– as usual, my arrangements were far, far too busy to really be all that effective.
The other big, big missing element was something that should’ve slapped me in the face a lot sooner: Performance. I simply wasn’t writing any lead parts that I could play on keytar during a live show (you know, when we can do THOSE again).
I also believe this track makes for a much better opener for a storytelling album, and it fulfills my main goals in making dance music: It’s got rhythm AND beauty. the very antithesis of Matthew Ebel.
So while “Let’s Go” isn’t going away, it’s going to be AFTER this track. Let’s see what comes next…
